Correspondence was road from tho Hon R. H. Rhodes concerning rabbits on Quail Island, and it was decided to write and obtain permission for the inspector to visit the island and report In accordance with notice of motion at the previous meeting, a rate of 1-32 of a, penny in tho £ was struck for the year 1916-17. It was reported that arrangements had been made with Mr Burke, sen., to attend to the gate at Motukarara until another gatekeeper was appointed. A discussion took place regarding the removal of the gate and fence at Motukarara to u more suitable position, but it was decided to leave the matter in abeyance for the present. The inspector was authorised to procure new boards, painted red with white lettering-, for Ihc gate at Motukarara.
