FOR MURDER OF CHINAMAN. Bt Telegraph—Prase Association—Copyright ' SYDNEY, September 1. Edward Stainer has been sentenced to death for the murder of a Chinaman at Auburn in April. (A cablegram from Sydney on April 22 stated:—A masked man walked to the open window of a home at Auburn occupied.by four Chinese, and without warning shot a Chinese with a revolver. He entered the house and shot another, who was attracted by the shot, and then walked’ to an adjoining room and shot a third Chinese and locked the fourth in'a bedroom. After ransacking their pockets he departed, leaving no clue. Two Chinese are- seriously wounded.)
