SUMNER GUILD. The S-amcr.’s Institute Sumner Guild met in the Council Chambers on Monday, svhen, in the Rbsenoe of the president, Mrs G. VV. C. Smitlisou, ilia Mrs J. B. Laurenson, presided over a large a .tendance. The lighthouse collection boxes were handed in and resulted in the sum of £2 10s 9d. T‘ was decided not to issue them again until tho war had ended. Mrs S. Mams reported that in company with Mrs Ledger tlu had visited tho seamen at the hospital every Wednesday, taking fruit and magazines. Mrs Milne and Mrs Cross were thanked for donations of magazines. Mr< Hanham was elected ft member and Misses Hanha-m, G. Beavan and F. Smith associates. Mrs and Miss Thoruley were accorded ft yoto of tlianks for their assistance in the clerical work.
