A meeting of the Canterbury Fire Brigades’ ijeinonstration Finance Committee was held in Sunnier last night, when the Mayor, Mr J. B. Laurenson, presided over a fair attendance. Mr T. A. Wrenn reported upon the visit of the deputation appointed to wait on the tramway authorities. It had been very favourably received, but, so far, no definite concessions had been granted. In regard to tho deputation’s consultation with the manager of the Tramway Concert Party, a concert had been arranged for in Suinner at a date to be arranged. The secretary submitted a table of estimated expenditure and receipts. The former showed a total outlay of £73, the chief items of which were prize money amounting to £35, and tainment of visiting firemen £25. No difficulty was anticipated in raising the amount. Donations already received were acknowledged from Mr F. N. Adams £1 Is, Mr T. A. Wrenn £1 Is, Dr Evans £1 Is, Captain M’Lean £2 2s. Mr G. Humphreys £1 Is, Mr C. Monek £1 Is, Mr E.
