Twenty-nine petitions have been presented, signed by tradesmen of the Railway workshops, praying for official recognition to the Railway Tradesmens Association. Tho petitioners stato that they represent a body of skilled labour having an identity of interests which aro not the same as those of the unskilled labour of the second division of the railway service. They claim that the policy of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants is in conflict with the interests of the tradesmen and that it absolutely refused to represent some questions affecting pay and conditions of unskilled labour.
