ANNUAL REPORT. [From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June 27. War conditions are mainly the theme of the Labour Department's annual report, winch st ates that no unemployment difficulty lias been experienced during tho war. An unusual feature had been the oxtensive employment of girls in place of men. notably in banks. Arrangements were made to assist fai mors with volunteer workers, but litrh or no difficulty was experienced by farmers in themselves obtaining on the spot what assistance was needed. It might have been anticipated that the number of alleged breaches of awards and agreements reported to tlie Department would during the war bo less than usual, but such had not been the cast. Tli<? Inspector of Awards bad been kept busily engaged on tins work.
