SOLDIERS' MARRIAGES.
TO THE EDITOIt. Sir,—There seems to mo to be a rather frequent occurrence of soldiers getting married on their lmal leave, to enable tho wife to claim the country's support. T would not like to think this was tho deliberate intention in all ease.?, but I know of one case in particular, and havo heard of others,. where tins is the uppermost thought in the minds of those concerned. Now, sir, I think you will agree that in those cases there is a twang of sponging which rather discounts the spirit of patriotism of those people, for ifc is heaping more burdens on tho country at a time when help would be more acceptable. T don't know whether thia aspect of the case has been considered by" those in authority, nor do I think it would be easilv dealt with, but I do think a little "publicity given to the subject would cause interested parties to consider their action.—l am, etc., PATRIOT.
