SWIMMING.
LEESTON CLUB. • Tho Leeston Amateur Swimming Club held its second annual carnival on Saturday afternoon. The weather was .exceedingly warm. The entries for all events were satisfactory and a good afternoon's sport resulted The attendance of tho public was also very good. The Islington Freezing Works employees, who held their annual picnic at Leeston on Saturday, wero given permission to hold a swimming race between the events on (he carnival programme. The club officials were:—Captain. Mr C. J. Cradock; starter. Mr A. W. Green; timekeeper, Mr A Pratt; secretary, Mr S. Jackman. lho ladies provided afternoon tea.
