FIRE IN THE CITY.
OUTBREAK IN STABLES-TN CASHEL STREET. About 3.45 a. m. yesterday flip brigade received a call to the Rotlierfield stables, in Cashel Street, the alarm being given by the pol ice immediately the fife had broken out. When tho brigade arrived the flames had obtained a good bold of the building, and it was not before one side of tho stables had been completely destroyed that the file could ho overpowered. The stables arc owned by Air A. S. Rattray and are at present leased by Air W. J. Straw. They are insured in the Norwich. Union Office for £450. All tho chaff, gigs and harness were severely scorched and damaged, but fortunately tho horses, which had been boxed up for the night, escaped unharmed. , , ,i e . There is no clue as to how the file started and Mr Straw said that when he closed the stables at about 11. lo 6n the previous night everything was perfectly safe. . f ,,. 0n Tho contents were insured lot ~0-U in the Royal Office.
