0 CHRISTCHUECH HOMING- SOCIETY.. The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off their annual ladies' gold bracelet race from Kaitoki on Saturday, January 1-fcSixty-fouv birds were sent, divided amongst fifteen competitors. The birds were liberated by the etntiomuaster at 9.SS a.m., ia dull weather and showery, with a nor'-west wind. The winner was Mrs A. Finlayson's Artillery, which hew the distance, of 223 miles 1338 yards in shr 3'Jinin Usee. The following is the velocity recorded by each competitor's bird:—Mrs* A. Finlayeon's Artille-ry, 1113yds per minute; Miss D. Moir's Blue Zioninn, Jll2vds; Miss Kitft Overend's Lady Sprite, 1109vds; Miss Docherty's Thackeray, 1101yds | Miss Pounsford's Selwyn, 1099yds: Miss Ej Fuchs's Andrew, 1032yds; Miss Kingsford'l Kevnote. 1079yds: Miss L. Draper's Lincoln. 1078yds; Mis'? tnkaon's Dreamland. 1066yds' Miss D. Doherty's Tipperary. 1021yds.
