FIRES.

A SAWMILL BURNED. [Per Press Association'.] AUCKLAND, May 28. An old sawmill, formerly used by the Parker, Lamb Timber Company, was gutted by fire on Saturday afternoon. The whole of the contents were destroyed, including a steam engine and a suctiou gas engine. The building was owned by Macklow Brothers. Tt was damaged to the extent of about £SOO. The only insurance is £IOO on the building in the Now Zealand office. It is not known whether the contents were insured.
