The North Otago district has evidently been completely cleared of all wheat, for inquiries have failed to discover the existence of any stocks in the hands of growers, and merchants have •none in store. Local millers have, therefore, to rely on their own stocks, 1 and' most, if not all, of them have suf-: ficient wheat on hand to enable them to carry on gristing for a little time, but not until the harvest makes the new season's grain available. Oats, for which there is a strong demand, have advanced in an emphatic manner during tho week. To-day's quotations for A grade Cartons is from 2s lid to 3s not at .country stations. A few growers still hold fair stocks, but the prices named aro not sufficient to induce them to sell; indeed, in one case 3s net on trucks was offered for a line, but the offer . was declined. B grad'e Gartons are a penny less, and other varieties are quoted at proportionate prices. CRADDOCK, M'CROSTIE CO.
