TRAMWAY BOARD.
YESTERDAY’S MEETING. PAPANUI ROAD DISPUTE. The Christchurch Tramway Board met yesterday; present —Mr J- A. Flesher (chairman), tho Hon J. Barr and Messrs D. Sykes, C. M. Gray, H. Pearco, G. T. Booth and A. W. Beaven. The Works Committee recommended that tho side-boards on the St Martins cars should bear the words St MartinsRapaki Hills, and that, in view of tho fact that the district was responsible for the full deficiency on the line, it had been decided to issuo school and apprentices’ tickets at. the usual rates. The committee had decided to accede to the request of the Waimairi County Council to remit the tramway rate on the Papanui Domain. The report was adopted. It- was decided to give £5 to the Woolston Borough Council towards the cost of improvements to the Woolston Domnin.
The City Council wrote stating that it could not. agree to the removal of a lamp in Limvood Avenue. Tho letter was received.
