MEETING OF DROVERS. • A meeting of drovers, called by the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Labourers' Union, was held in tha Trades Hall, Christchurch, on Saturday evening, for the'purpose of forming 8j Drovers' Union of joining the Canter* tfury Agricultural and Pastoral' Law bourers' Union. Mr F. Ellis wa| voted to the chair. The chairman outj lined the objects of the meeting, and asked for an expression of opinion from; the drovers present. After some d& cussion tho secretary, Mr E. Kennedji addressed the meeting, pointing out the advantages of the drovers uniting arid becoming meiribers of a strong or< ganisation instead of a small Union. Opinions were expressed that the best interests of the drovers would be served by joining the Union now in existence, and the secretary was instructed to get into communication with as many, drovers as possible.
