SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

SYDENHAM. Tlio Sydenham School Committee met on Tuesday evening; present—Mr R. Congrevo (chairman), Mesdames Hunt and Webb, and Messrs Butterfield, Cameron, Duncan, Harley, Marks and Merriman. The ISducation Board, wrote, forwarding the names of candidates for the " position of assistant mistress, and as the result of a ballot it was resolved to recommend Miss Miles for the position. Mrs Hunt, and, Messrs Duncan and Harley were appointed a Visiting Committee for t |ie month. Messrs Butterfield, Duncan and Congreve wero appointed delegates to the School Committees' Association. The headmaster's report showed tne number on the roll to be 1038. with au average of 904. The headmaster also reported* having purchased books ">r„ the school library. •
