Tlie Sydney swimmers - made their second appearance at the Auckland Carnival in the Albert Street fresh wafer baths Inst night. The following aro tho results: Relay Race —Miss Ferguson and F. Timo —22seo. • ‘ Gore Gi'.lon Handicap for Ladies, 50yds— Miss Durack, scr, 1'; Miss Fnrqubar 2. Time 30sec. A Now Zealand record. Hardwick Handicap, 100yds—Campbell, 13sec, 1; Paitry, 12soc, 2. Won by two feet. Time—lmin 12sec. Neat Header —Miss Durrick 1. Visitors’ Handicap, 4-10yds—Final heat: Hardwick, scr, 1;' Champion, scr, 2. Masters and Sinton also started. The raco was easily the best seen in .Aucklnnd for mnny years. Sinton gob away about twenty yards behind Masters, who was just over a lap in tho lead whoa the two scratch men set out. Hardwick ■ started away with the crawl, and -when tho pair had covered two laps he was two yards in front of Champion. Ho settled down to a long, steady trudge, and Champion kept to him lap after lap, and it was soon apparent that the first honours would rest betwoen these two. Throe laps and ft half aftor the scratch pair had started they had overhauled Sinton and Masters, who was accounted for soon after three laps had been travelled. Sinton then retired. Champion drew up to within ft yard of Hardwick, and tho two raced almost neck and neck over tho last hali of the journey. Hardwick gained at every, turn and Champion made up tho deficiency on the straight run. With two laps to’go, tho excitement was intense, as Champion was still within a yard of hi 3 formidable opponent. On those terms they i turned for home, but Hardwick gained on ’ tho turns, and eventually, won . a magnificent ! raco by three ynrds. Hardwick’s time was ! over 2soc faster than the New Zealand record, i and just Bsec outside his best time for ; the distance. Champion was within his own New Zealand record. The time for tho race' was smin 33sec. BOYS’ HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS AT LYTTELTON. Tho annual swimming* sports of tho Boys' High School were held in the graving dock, Lyttelton, and at Corsair Bay, yesterday. It | was at first intended to swim off all the events \ at Coxsair Bay, but the heavy sea and cold j wind made this course impracticable, and I consequently the majority of tho races were - hold in the' graving dock. In the afternoon tho weather cleared, and tho scholars spent a few enjoyable hours nt- tho popular seaside resort. The following were’ the officials: — j Starter, Mr It. M. Bering; judges. Messrs M.
