HOCKEY.
CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the_delegates of the Canterbury Hockey Association held on Thursday evening in the x.iu.C.A. building. Mr G. Batley (president) was in the chair, and the following clubs were represented:—Christchurch (Mr W. Sutcliffe), Sydenham (Messrs Batley Snell and Berry), Woolsfcon <Mr Leiglitbu), Cranford (Mr Parkyn), St Albans (Mr H. Luxton), Addington (Messrsßellamy, Chappell and Rogers), Selwyn Street (Mr W. Down), Bible Class (Mr W M’Kay), St Luke’s (Messrs Crawford and Stoddart), and Oxford Ter- < race (Mr Drayton). The meeting was (jailed to discuss alterations and additions to the rules, and after some lengthy disoussion practically the whole of the new proposals •i were agreed to. The following are the most important of the new roles:—“That no qew club shall be affiliated to the Canterbury j Hockey Association unless it can show v a sixty per cent basis of new players to the game and that such club shall guarantee that such proportion shall bo maintained during the season.’’ “That a registration fee of 2s shall be levied on 1 )■ all registered players of affiliated clubs playing in the Christchurch Hockey Association’s competitions, one shilling of this to be devoted to the ordinary funds of the Association and one shilling to be set aside for the purchase and upkeep of the grounds.” Rule 25 has been altered to read as follows: —“The Management Committee (vice council) shall in each year appoint a selector or a selection committee for representative matches.”
LADIES’ HOOKEY. TO-DAY’S GAMES. The Canterbury Ladies’ Senior Representative team will play the Kaihoura Ladies’ dub team on St Albans Park this afternoon at 3 p.m. Although some of the Canterbury members may be more experienced players the Kaikoura Club is expected to put up a good fight, as they are exceedingly r strong in defence. Mr George Ford will referee. j The Junior Comoetition will be, continued, and the following matches will be played:—St Luke’s v. Ngaio, on South Park; Te Kaha v. Sydenham A, on the Polo Grounds; Red Rovers v. • Sydenham B, on Sydenham Park; Waimairi v Technical College A, at Rapanui; Technical College B v. Kai Ora, at Woolston; Hinemoa v. Wharenui, on the Polo Grounds; Digby’s v. Farmers, on the Polo Grounds. j MONDAY’S REPRESENTATIVE ' ! MATCH. The Junior Representative team wall play the Kaikoura team on Monday, at Sydenham ‘Park, at 3 p.m. Mr L. A. Qusworth will be the referee. The following are the players:—Goal, Miss B. Cade (Farmers); three-quarters Mieses H. Harrison (St Luke's), right, E. • Chapman (Waimairi), left; halves, Misses A. Stock (Kai Ora) left, H. Pearce (Hinemoa) centre, N. Rogers (Waimairi) right; forwards, Misses A. Dailey (Te Kaha) right wing, O. Homer (Waitaairi) inside right, M. Martin (Waimairi) bully, I. Hester (Sydenham) inside loft, E. Pepper (Waimairi) left wing. Emergencies—Misses M. Papps, E. Nelson, G. Bradley.
