Mr J. R. J cssop, of Ashburton county, on Tuesday disposed of the remainder of his Balaclava Estate, Lismore, to Mr W. J. Cresswcll, of Christchurch. Tho Cheviot Agricultural and Pastoral Association met oh Saturday, Mr M’Qiteen presiding. The chairman referred to the loss suffered hy the Association by tho deaths of Mr Frank Kelly and Mr D. G. Johnstone, both of whom had been i hard working members. It was decided to solid letters of sympathy to tho relatives of these gentlemen. * Tho Land Board in reply to inquiries wrote offering to exchange tho present show grounds for fourteen acres of land at Mina. *lt was decided to hold a special meeting on November 16 to consider the matter.
