GUN CLUB.

The Spreydon Gun Club held its annual sparrow championship on Labour Dsy. The scores are as follows:—A. H. Free 20, F. Trusoott 19, G. Heaven 17, H. Dawkin 17, R. "Whitelaw 17, J. Hayton 16, J. Lloyd 16, R. G. Thomas 15, H. Vale 15, H. Earle 14, T. V. Grimley 13, J. M’Cann 13, W. Ashworth 5 retired. The conditions were: Twen-tv-ono birds, ten to be shot off 17yds end eleven off 20yds. At the conclusion of th* match, Mr Putnam, on behalf cf the club, presented the winner with a handsome gold medal. The ladies of the club provided afternoon tea.
