PROPOSED PLEBISCITE OF MEMBERS.

As a result of the answer received from the Minister of Defence, the Hon.. A. M. Myers, in regard to the compul- I sory clauses of. the Defence Act, an answer regarded by the Canterbury Ironmoulders' Union as unsatisfactory, the following resolution was adopted for submission to a plebiscite of the Union's . members:—That the Federated Ironmoulders of New Zealand will cease production on and after Labour Day , next, unless the compulsory clauses of the Defence Act are repealed; and that other unions and societies be asked to - take similar action."
