A Press Association message states -that the Auckland Cricket Association has recommended that the visit of the New Zealand team to Australia should bo postponed till next season, when a number of young players, especially bowlers, will have had more experience. In a cricket match between Barry s Bay and Mount Herbert teams, the latter won by a- large margin. Tho scores were:—Barry's Bay, 18 and lo; Mount Herbert, 95 for five wickets A party, including .members of the Christchurch Municipal Cricket Club, paid an enjoyable visit to Burnham on Saturday. The party was entertained by Mr Archey, manager of tho Industrial School. 'During the day a cricket match was played, which resulted in a win for Burnham hv 49 runs. The scores were as • lo. (Munro 57, Powell 39): Municipal Cricket Club, 110 (Knox So, Gray 26, Blakelev 1.8. Cropp 18). The howling honours fell to Archey, and Helher for the School, and Dawe and Cropp.for the Council. On Friday and Saturday a team representing the combined' Christchurch timber firms met and defeated Oxford by 23 runs. Scores:—Combined team, 70 and 103 (TTon wood 42, Ashby 30. Hawke 25, West 18, Marsh 15); Oxford 93 and 59 (0. Feary 40, Rudd 23, E. Fearv 18. Rattrav 18, Ryde 14, Chambers 10, Sherlock 10). Ashby and Cusack for the winners, and Ra.ttray and Judson for the losers, bowled best. On Monday the combined team met Oust and were defeated on the first innings by 15 runs. Scores: —Oust, 89 and: 93 for eight wickets; Combined Team, 74.
