HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. [Per Przss Association.] . WELLINGTON, April 9. The Department of Industries and Commerce lias received the following cable message from the High Commissioner, dated London, April 6. The quotations, unless otherwise specified, are the average market prices on the spot Frozen Meat.-—Mutton—The market is firm at last quotations, namely (nominally), Canterbury 4|d, North Island 3Jd to 4£d. Lamb —The market is steady and prices are well maintained. Beef—The market is quiet. 1 Butter.—The market is quiet and prices are slightly firmer. The average prices for the week were: —Choicest Now Zealand butter 1245, Australian 120 s, Siberian 120 s, Danish 1295, Argentina 120 s. Cheese.—The market is steady. The average price for tho week was—Finest New Zoaland cheese 745. - • Hemp.—The market is very quiet, and nothing is doing. The output from Manila for the week was 26,000 bales. Hops.—The market is firm, with an improved demand for New Zealand hops. The prospects are favourable for early shipments. Wool.—The market remains firm. AR GENTINE !EXPORTS. The Department has received the following cablegram from Buenos Aires, dated April 6:—Tlie following shipments of produce wer© despatched from Argentine to United Kingdom ports during March, 1912, t)ie figures for March; 1911, being also given:— _ 1912. 1911.
