ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET. There was a good attendance at tlie weekly, stock sale held at the Tinwald yards yesterday, but the entry showed a decrease of 3400 on the previous week’s sale. The yarding of fats was again a largo one, principally lambs, but the quality was not up to standard, and several lines of unfinished lambs were passed by auction. Freezing buyers were operating freely in all classes, but while prices for lambs were equal to last week’s rates, ewes were easier. Ewes made up to 13s "d, wethers to 17s Gd and lambs to 17s lid. Prices obtained wove as follows: Prime freezing ewes 12s to 13s 7d, medium weights 10s Id to 11s 7d, light and inferior 8s 6d to 9s Gd, prime wethers 15s 8d to 17s Gd, others 145..t0 14s Gd, prime freezing lambs 15s to 16s 3d, extra heavy 17s lid, medium weights 14s to 14s Bd, light' weights 12s. Principal sales were:—Ewes: 62 three-quarter-breds at 11s Gd, 23 at 10s lOd, 30 at 12s, 46 at 11s Id. 50 half-breds 11s 7d, 4o 'at 13s Gd, 80 at 10s 2d, 49 at 11s 2d, 26 at 10s 9d, 30 at 11s, 88 at 11s, 63 at 9s 6d. Wethers: Two-tooth half-breds 14s, 81 two-tooth crcss-breds 15s Bd. Lambs: 49 at 14s, 77 at 15s Gd, 68 at 14s 2d, 62 at 17s lid. 113 at 15s 2d. 224 at 15s 4d, 135 at 14s, 272 at 14s Gd, 100 at 15s 4d, 42 at 15s 9d, 80 at 15s 9d, 43 at 15s, 63 at 14s sd. There was a decided improvement in the storo sheep market, two-tooth owes being keenly competed for, and prices ranged to 18s 7d, while sound-mouth ewes made up to 16s 3d. Of the total yarding of 5507, only 1967 were passed at auction.
