AGRICULTURAL SHOWS.
FAIIILIE. The' fourteenth annual show of the Mackenzie County Agricultural and Pastoral Association was hold on Easter Monday, and was again an unqualified success. A very number of people went up from Timaru, and the gate receipts totalled nearly £ICO. The entries numbered 790, and, taken all round, the. quality of both stock and produce was a credit to the district, ■ and demonstrated its capabilities in a way which surprised many of tho visitors. A special feature was the draught and light horses. Among tho fat cattle shown was a monster bullock, which, though only about four years old, was estimated to weigh very little short of !200()lb. The Agricultural Department had an interesting exhibit in the shape of field roots and grass grown on experimental plots, the roots at Belfast and Fairlie and the grasses in the Mackenzie County.
