THE ARNST-WHELCH RACE.

TO THIS EDITOR. Sir, I read a statement in your issue of Tuesday last, to the effect that every bed was taken in Akaroa for the night of April 2, the date of tho championship sculling raco. Ido not know who* was the authority for such a statement, but I want to contradict it absolute! v through your columns. There is pienty of available accommodation here, and one hotelkeeper, with plenty of beds at bis disposal,.has not a single one engaged. Such statements may be the means of keeping away numbers of people who could find ample accommodation. —1 am, etc., AKAROA RESIDENT.
