SUPREME COURT.

[Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, March 16.

At the Supreme Court to-day, Patrick John Hofen was sentenced to six months’ - imprisonment on a charge of fraud in respect to certain chattels under a bill of sale. William John Knight pleaded guilty to two charges of sheepBtealing, and was remanded for sentence. Joseph Norcroft was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment for failing to keep proper books, Mr Justice Cooper making the sentence lenient in consideration of tho state of health of the accused and his wife. William J. Knight was found guilty of sheep stealing, and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
