STATEMENT BY MR MILLAR [Peb Phess Association.]

WELLINGTON, Julv 7. The Hon J. A. Millar, Acting-Min-ister of Finance, states that the revenue for the quarter ended June 30 last amounted to £1.820.597, showing a net in.croa.H3 of £34,678 compared With the corresponding quarter of last year. Railways were responsiblo for an increase of £92,338 and land and income tax £4063. Customs shows a decrease of £38,085, stamps £22,598 and territorial £20,308. For tho year ended Juno 30 last the revenue totalled £9,035,803, or £20,975 less than tho revenue for the year ended Juno, 1908. Among the increases, railways represent £183,152 and land and in'como tax £90,151. Tho Customs returns for tho year-were less by £259,554 and territorial revenue was less bv £94,113.
