BOXING.

- CHRISTCHURCH SPORTS CLUB. A meeting of the committee of tho Christchurch Sports Club was held on Saturday. - Reports were received dealing with tho action of a competitor at the recent tournament, and with tho misconduct of two spectators., It was decided to censure the competitor for hia unsportsmanlike behaviour, and to warn him that if he were reported again lie would be permanently disqualified.: With regard to the two spectators it was' decided that they should be communicated with by registered letter and informed that they were debarred .from attending any future competitions promoted by the club, and that should they disregard this decision •and enter any building engaged by the club, they would be proceeded against as trespassers. ‘ It, was decided to add a welterweight event to the local championship '■ programme, and the dates of the championships- were .definitely, fixed as July 14* and 15i ■ S> Mr J. F. Wachsmann, a vice-presi-deAt of the club, wrote offering a trophy of tho value of £5 5s fob competition. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the donor in respect to the pffei'. •' Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Council dealing with ' a- resolution passed at the conference of local Associations, held hi Christ- ' cJmrch in August last-. The effect of the resolution was-to abolidi the present system of governing .'the sport. Owing to tho Wellington ■ Association having recorded a iprotest! against the resolution being giyen effect to, the Council called for a further expression of opinion from the local Associations on the matter. It was? decided that the committee was fully in accord with ' die objects of tho resolution, and that ‘ us in the opinion of the committee the alteration in the method of government proposed in the resolution was in the best interests of the; sport, the committee could not see its way to depart from its original decision.
