The fire brigade, was called to a fire about two miles out of ■ town which totally destroyed the Caledonian Society’s pavilion, and when the ’-brigade was there the fire-bell sounded • again for a fire which totally destroyed the Phoenix Bowling Club’s pavilion. The contents ns well as the buildings were destroyed. The loss to the Bowling Club is" about £290. There were small insurances. • •
