A letter was received from the promoters of the New Zealand Agricultural Conference, asking the committee to forward the names of its delegates and particulars of any matters the delegates might desire to bring forward, and also to nominate the president of the conference. Mr M. Murphy moved that the president and vice-president and Mr D. D. Macfarlane should be the Association’s delegates, and that Mr Macfarlane should be nominated for the position of president. _ . The motion was carried unanimously.

On the motion of Mr Murphy, it was decided to appoint the delegates and Messrs R. Reid and M. Murphy as a committee to decide what subjects should he brought forward at the conference by delegates. Dr C. J. Russell wrote, protesting against the custom of cropping tho manes and docking the tails of horses, and stating that the prize-money he would donate in the horse section for next show must not be given for any horse that was cropped or docked. The letter was referred to the Horse Committee.

The Christchurch Prohibition League wrote, protesting against the action of a nou-political body such as the Association in voting funds for the assistance of a political party. The letter was received. Accounts for £286 8s 2d were passed for payment. Permission was given to Mr O. B. Pemberton, the Association’s secretary, to act as secretary for the South Island Sheep Breeders’ Association. It was decided to vote £5 5s to the Christchurch Sheep Dog Trial Club.

Messrs R. E. Moore (Brookside), H. Edbrooko (Cashmere), A. G. Thompson (Balmoral), D. Hampton (Culverden) R. S. Allan (Omihi) and E. K. Mulgan '(Merivale) were elected members of the Association.
