SAMARITAN HOME.

The annual meeting of tho Samaritan Home Trustees was held on Monday; present—Messrs C. H. Bridge (chairman), B. P. Manhire, F. J. Board and C. H. Winny, Mrs Wilson (honorary secretary) and Sister Lilian. The chairman reported that the inmates in the Home at the end of 1908 totalled 69, as against 63 at the end of 1907. Since tho Home had boon gazetted a place for receiving habitual drunkards 21 persons bad been admitted under the regulations. At present there wero seven men and nine women who were inmates of the Homo under the Habitual Drunkards Act.

Mr Bridge tendered his resignation as chairman, and Mr Board was unanimously elected to the position. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Bridge. Mr Board, in thanking the members for his election, said that it was necessary that tho scopo of the work undertaken by tho Homo should bo reduced, ns bo thought the Trustees were attempting too much considering their limited finances.

Mrs ’Wilson was elected honorary secretary. and Sister Marion and Mesdames' Sandstein and Purchas were reelected members of tho House Committee. It was decided that in future tho Trustees should moot on tho first Monday of each alternate month, tho next mooting to ho hold on March 1.
