Four Basuto chiefs are frequently in attendance at the Colonial Office, with a view of interviewing King Edward regarding South African affairs. They resent becoming an adjunct of the Orange River Colony in the ©vent of unification, and desire that Basutoland should be a distinct unit. THE TWO CAPITALS. LONDON, February 9. The Cape Town correspondent of the '“Times” reports that opinion everywhere is tending to accept the compromise with regard to the capital. It is considered that owing to the immense Jistances it is a good thing that Ministers and officials should be obliged to travel about and see the varying Aspects of problems, hence a dual capital will be welcomed.
