TRAMWAY CROSSINGS.

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—l noticed in Saturday's paper that a Mr Whitcombe, one of the employees of the Railway Department, writes of Mr Wood as though he did not know who he was. Will you kindly allow me to inform the above gentleman that Mr Wood is Traffic Superintendent of the Electric Tramways of Christchurch, and I suppose one of the best-known men in Christchurch. I am sorry to say I never heard of Mr Whitcombe until Saturday, soi we have both gained in knowledge.—l am. etc.. IGNORANT.
