"Stationery."—A requisition was gazetted in 1906. and is still in force, whereby all tailors, clothiers, drapers, milliners, fancy goods dealers, jewellers, stationers, grocers, ironmongers, butchers, bootmakers, saddlers, furniture dealers and bicycle do- ■ ing business in Kaiapoi are required to close at 6 p.m. on four days of the at 1 p.m. on the half-holiday, and at 9 p.m. on Saturdays. If any of the goods dealt with by these trades are sold by any shopkeeper, the hours specified must be adhered to, unless these goods are sold in a separate department of the shop, which is locked up at the hours fixed. It would not be sufficient to remove these goods from the shop during the extra, hours it was desired to keep, open.
