TAI TAPU CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY COMPANY.

The eighteenth report of the directors of the Tai Tapu Co-operative • Dairy Company, Limited, to be presented at the annual general meeting of shareholders, to be held at Tai Tapu on Thursday afternoon, states that' the supply of milk, continues, to increase, and that the prospects for the coming year were very encouraging. The total quantity of milk received during' the year was 14,168,7321 b, and the quantity of butter made 616,1561 b. The quantity of milk taken to make each 11b of butter was 22.57, and the average test., was 4.06. The sales of butter were as follows : —Local sales 433,1391 b, farmer’s’ supply for home use 30,2981 b, exported 144,9281 b, sundry sales 23,5831 b, soldi to employees. 5281 b, balance on hand • ‘ 38441 b. These amounts, added to 20,1591 b brought forward from the previous year, show the amount handled during the year to have amounted to 036,3151 b. The average price paid to supplier’s for butter fat was 10 17-24 d per lb, and .suppliers received for their milk 4Jd per gallon. Tire surplus output was sold at 11-Jd at Lyttelton, the price being the highest obtained up to the present. The factory and creameries have worked satisfactorily, and the whole of tire season’s export butter, as in former years, passed first grade. Owing to the increased isupply at Greenpark, it was found necessary to install' another separator. The directors recommend that a dividend of 5 per, cent should be paid. The balance-sheet ’ shows that the receipts for the year amounted to £29,673 19s 6d,- inclusive of £245’ 16s due to the Union Bank. The principal sources of revenue were: Sales of local £20,482 0s 8d; ex s -' port ,£6254 ,0s Id.;' Tai. Tapu stores £583 7s id, sundry sales £484 3s 4d, and suppliers’ butter . £1485' 6s 6tl. The principal items of expenditure were:—Milk, suppliers £24,237.12® lOd, butter charges £1409 6s lOd, salaries and wages £1024 5s 2d, commission £625 12s Bd, and trade expenses £295 3s 4d.
