ASHBURTON COUNTY RACING CLUB. The Ashburton County Racing Oiub’s meeting was concluded yesterday, in fine weather. An interesting day’s racing was marred somewhat by the fact that the stewards were called together three times. ■ There was some jostling at the start of the Coldstream, Welter Handicap, and an inquiry resu.ted in Hegarty and M’Ciusky being cautioned.. The running of Manjess was reviewed after the Tinwald Handicap, and the stewards, while expressing dissatisfaction with his form on the two days, decided that there was not enough evidence to justify any action being taken. A protest entered against Little Jimmy, the winner of the Winchmoro Trot Handicap, on the ground of inconsistent running, was dismissed. The totalisator investments for tho day amounted to £2564 10s, making a total for the meeting of £5735, as compared with £4023 10s last year.
