SATURDAY. —Mararoa arrives from Wellington and leaves on return trip. Tara! wera arrives from Dunedin and leaves for Wellington and east coast ports. Poherua. arrives from Timaru, Oamaru and Dunedin, and leaves for Wellington, Westport and GreymonthSUNDAY.—Eotomahana arrives from Wellington.

The scow Ngaru, irom Herekino, with a cargo of timber, anchored in the stream at 10 p.m. on Thursday, and yesterday was berthed at the low level breastwork to discharge. The vessel left Herekino on Friday lost, and had variable winds and fine weather throughout the passage. It is not yet known what she will do after unloading.

The New Zealand Shipping Company’s s.s. Kimutaka returned from the south yesterday, arriving from Timaru at 7.15. She was berthed at No. 7 jetty to take London cargo, and will leave for Auckland and Wellington to-day. The s.s. Rotomahana arrived from Wellington at 8.30 o.m. yesterday. Mr F. Chambers, the well-known purser of the Huddart-Parker Company’s s.s. Wiramcra, is about to leave the service of the company, having accepted a shore position. with Messrs Murray and Co., of Invercargill. He will quit* the Wimmera at Wellington on her return from Sydney next trip. Mr Chambers has been thirteen years with the Huddart-Parker Company, and has made many friends, who will wish him success in his new sphere.

The Union Steamship Company’s s.s. Manuka arrived at 5.15 a.m. yesterday. She left Sydney at 2.29 p.m. on Saturday last, cleared the Heads at 2.50 p.m., arrived at Wellington at 4.30 a.m. on Wednesday, anti sailed at 4.15 p.m. on Thursday for Lyttelton. She experienced light variable winds and smooth sea throughout. The Huddart-Parker Company’s s.s. Wimtnera, from Melbourne, via southern ports.

Victoria is. to arrive this morning from Sydney via cast coast ports and to leave this afternoon for Dunedin. The Union Steamship Company s s.s. lloeraki will resume her .intercolonial running on Sunday, when she sails for Melbourne, via the Bluff. ... It is announced that the' Shaw, Savill Company’s s.s. Gothic, which has been un-derg-oing* repairs and alterations as.a result of the fire which broke out on her last trip from Wellington to London, is to leave London for New Zealand ports on November la. The German steamer Burgermeister Hachmann is expected a-t Lyttelton early nexc week, to land 720 tons of American mcrchandise. She will proceed to Port Chalmers to complete her discharge. The steamer will then proceed’ to Newcastle- to load coal for Acapulco, Mexico. Advices just ,to hand concerning the I imam Harbour Board’s now dredge state that satisfactory steaming and dredging trials were made on the Clyde a few weeks ago* The now dredge is 224 ft long, with a breadth of 38ft.and a depth of 16ft. She is a twinscrew Vessel, with a hopper capacity of 10CH) tons of spoil, and was built by Messrs Ferguson and Fleming, Paisley.
