CONSUMPTIVE SANATORIUM.

A meeting of the Executive of the Consumptive Sanatorium was held on Friday; present—Mr 'H. 'J. Beswicfe (chairman), Drs Greenwood, Talbot, Finch, Morton Anderson and Jeavningp, Messrs Blackwell (Mayor of Kaiapoa), W. Dunlop, P. Horrell, Adamson and H. R. Smith. A letter was received from Nurse Maude, thanking tho Executive for its letter of sympathy in her illness. She said that her work occupied too much of her time to permit of her taking an active part in connection with the work of the Sanatorium Committee. The secretary, in Ids report, stated that arrangements had been made with tho Christchurch Cycle and Motor Club for a sports gathering in connection with the movement. He had issued a circular to the clergy, suggesting that a collection, should b© taken up on Sunday for the Sanatorium. A majority of the ministers, had signified their approval of the proposal, but were unable to make tho collection on Sunday t as up to the end of June other collections had been previously arranged for. _ The architect suggested certain alterations of the plans of the road at the site of the Sanatorium, and tho suggestions were agreed to. The chairman reported that as the camp had received £l5O from the Government, the £l5O asked for from.tho committee would not be required. Mr C. M. Gray, M.H.R., was added to tho Executive Committee. A suggestion by Dr Pinch that Mr S. Hurst Seager should be asked to erect a specimen shelter at Nurse Maude’s camp for inspection by the medical members of tho Plans Committee was approved, ' . ■ Replying to Mr Horrell, the chairman said that tho committee had made some grants out of the moneys collected for the Sanatorium for Nurse Maude’s camps. The treasurer reported the amount in hand to bo £343 6s 3d, the amount of £603 17s 5d had been paid over to the Hospital Board, and the total sum received and promised was £3125 12s sd. Accounts to the amount of £7 15s 10d were passed for payment.
