. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, April 18. The New Zealand Rugby Union has received a. further communication from the English Rugby Union on the question of whether a player injured during a game can be replaced while the game is in progress. The' English body states that there is nothing in the laws of the game to prevent such a course, and Leaves the matter to the discretion of the Now Zealand Union. The latter is notifying affiliated Unions of the English Union’s opinion.
At a meeting of the Milltown Football Club, held on April {jl2, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr R. H. Rhodes, M.H.R. ; president, Mr J. M’Millan; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Lochhead, G. F. Simpson, A. J. Inwocd and D. J. M’Gc-rmick; committee, Messrs J. Yvickliife, T. Carroll, G. Hill,. C. Cooke, captain and vice-captain; Selection Committee, captain, vice-cap-tain, and Mr C. Cooke; secretary and trea>surer, Mr G. S'. Simpson. A match was played' at Burnham on Easter Monday between teams representing the Christchurch. Telegraph Messengers and the. Burnham School, and resulted in a win for the Messengers by eight points to- nil. Mr Maloney was referee.
