The racehorses Achilles and Tetaiaha left for the north by the s.a. Eotomahana yesterday evening. SALE OP BLOOD STOCK. Messrs Pyne and Co. held a sale ' of blood horses at Tafcteiaall’s yesterday morning. There was a fair attendance', but the sale was disappointing-, several lots eliciting no bids, whi.e others were passed at figures below the owners’ reserves. On account of Mr J. G. Palmer, the five-vcar-old mara Bagpipes (Gipsy Grand—Reel) was sold at 56 guineas to Mr M’La.chItm. The same owner's chestnut gelding Handel (Medallion Choir Girl) three years old, sold at 41 guineas to Mr Montgomery, am Australian horse-owner. A gelding by Sant Xlario—Susannah, offered on account of Mr H. A. Knight, was passed at 70 guineas. ■ Mr P. Busch’s Good-bye, eleven years •(Artillery—Adieu), was passed at 110 guineas. Mr G. G. Stead’s Eqmform was not offered, having been sold privately. COURSING. The Canterbury Coursing Club’s Easter Meeting will be commenced on the Plumpton Park Racecourse to-day. The meeting is particularly interesting, as it marks the revival of Plumpton coursing in Canterbury, after the sport had lapsed fox a good many years, Tho principal event to be decided is the Plumpton Park Cup, and included in tho thirty-two entries are several high-class dogs, so that there is every prospect of good sport being witnessed. A start will be made with the first course at 1.30 pjn.
