Coooanuts, being lighter than water, are transported along waterways in the lame manner that timber is floated. Thousands of them are thrown together, and the whole mass surrounded by long strands of dark fibre. One native can tow a number of such rafts, and the fibre is tough enough to stand considerable rough treatment.
