THE RHODES CONVALESCENT HOME.

Tne monthly meeting of the committee of Rhodes Convalescent Home was held on Wednesday; present—Messrs Heaton Rhodes (chairman), Molineaux, Moore and Harris. . , . The report showed that during last month twenty-two patients had been received and twenty-five had left the Home, and that there were twenty remaining. The average daily number of patients was 21.678, as against 15.446 in the corresponding month, of the previous year. The following donations were, reported : —jvir H. Cotterill, gardon chair; Collector H-.M. Customs, case frozen fish; Messrs Booth, Macdonald and Co!, two garden chairs; .Mrs' Heiaton Rhodes, large framed engraving. Votes of thanks were passed' to the several donors. A ieucer was received from the solicitors to the executors of the late Hon J. T; Peacook advising that by his will the deceased had bequeathed tlie sum of £BOO, free of legacy duty, for the purpose of endowing a bed in the institution. The secretary was instructed' to write to the solicitors acknowledging the gift, -and asking them to convey to the family of the deceased gentleman the high appreciation both of the trustees and tno committee of the kindly spirit'that prompted the generous gift. ',■ It- was decided to take no steps at present in the direction of installing .electricity or gas in the institution. Staff and trade accounts amounting to £123 lis 6d were passed for payment.
