[From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, October 24. QUESTIONS. In the House yesterday, Mr Ell gave notice to ask the Premier whether he was aware that the Christchurch Charitable Aid Board has seized the increase of the old age pension from 7s to 10s per * week, and has thus deprived the deserving old people who are in the Jubilee Memorial Homo of the slightest benefit through the increase, and has so far declined to allow the old people even the trifle of Is per week, and if so will ho take such steps as may be necessary to have justice done to the old age pensioners in this and similar institutions. Mr Davey gave notice to ask the Premier whether he is aware that when the old age pension amounted to £1 10s per month, the cost of maintenance of old age pensioners living in Homes controlled by the' North Canterbury Charitable Aid Board had been estimated at £1 10s per month, and that since the increase of the pension to £2 3s 4d per month the rate of maintenance had been worked out at £2 3s 9d, a difference of over 7s per month.
