CHARITABLE AID BOARDS
TO THE'EDITOR. Sir, —It is about time the public bad a say in the working of our local. Boards. There are certain members who bare evidently lost count of the ago in. which we live, or I should Ray “ exist.” It. has not yet dawned on them that wc live in a progressive age, and that we want to treat our aged folks in a, humane maimer. Evidently Mr Harris and other members of the, Board think they own the souls and bodies of our old people in the Jubilee Home. It shows the manliness of Mr Harris when ho has to slander a deputation before the Board. Wo want fresh blood on our Boards, men and women who have some humane feelings, and who will make the declining years of our unfortunate old folks one' of comfort and happiness. Let ns endeavour to place our institutions on a proper footing, so that we shall be- abld to consign such antiquated members of our Boards as Messrs Harris, Horrell and others to the oblivion from which they arose.—l am, etc., ' *Oll ABITY.
