MANDEVTLLE AND RANGIORA.
Th'e monthly meeting of the Man-do-vill-e and Rangiora Road Board was held on October 13. There were present—Messrs F. Horrail (chairman). Dalzlel, Stalker and Leech. Leave ,of absence was granted to the clerk-sur-veyor (Mr J. Marsha;!!), owing to his having mot with an accident. The Kowai Road Board wrote, in reply to an application from the Board for details of the account rendered in connection with the Lower Ashley Bridge, that it considered the account sufficient, hut if any particular item was requested it would be furnished. Mr P. 0. Threlkeld wrote, complaining of insufficient waterway under the main drain, bridge at Fkixton, causing an overflow on to his land, and asking the Board to use its influence with the-Eyre-ton Road Board to have it enlarged. Tli© request was -agreed to. The Railway Traffic Manager wrote that no rebate could ho allowed on a charge of £3 for demur-ra-ge on six trucks of broken metal at the Kaiapoi station, which could not be unloaded owing to bad weather. Air G. Butters was granted the lease of Reserve No. 1384. at £2 10s per annum. It was decided to ho longer allow people to use the yard at the Board’s office promises for standing horses and vehicles on market day, it being for use of Board members only. It war-; resolved to commence to buy small birds’ eggs and heads on October 24, at 2d per dozen. Accounts amounting to £237 were passed for ■payment.-
