SYDENHAM WESLEYAN CHURCH.
In connection -with the anniversary of the Sydenham Methodist Sunday School, which was oel-ebrated by special services last Sunday, a tea-meeting was given in th» schoolroom last, evening, Tv-hen there "was a large attendance. A meeting was held in the church at 7.30, at which the Sunday school children, under the leadership of Mr Gr»ce, sang specially selected hymns. A number of musical items were grrert by small nn-m----bsrsorf the choir during tba-evenitfg, and the Riv»S. Lanrry and W. Rrady gave addresses. Mr La.wry, in a short speech, to the childran, congratulated them on having celebrated so successfully another anniversary. ifae referred, to a number of items in the report, and expressed pleasure at the nraabex of young women who -were attending the class, but he : said that the number atr tending the young men's class might easily be doubled. He impressed on the children, that they "were very fortunate not to have lived in thia earlier days of Sunday school work, when conditions were not so favourable as they were at present. The Rev W. Ready also" gave a brief address. Mr Hulbert moved a hearty vote of thanks to the officers ajid t*ach*rs, and. all who had assisted on the occasion, of the anniversary. The motion woe seconded by Mr J. L. Scott, And carried by acclamation.
