[Per Press- Association.] WELLINGTON, March 11. The fraudulent bankruptcy of one Peter Stephens, a Syrian, who carried on business as a draper in the city, led to several other persons being criminally prosecuted for their connection with the affair. To-day George Paris,-who had been extradited from Sydney, and George Peters pleaded guilty to charges of perjury, and were committed for sentence to the Supremo Court, and George Paris, Hannah Stephens and Peter Stephens were committed for trial on a charge of conspiring to defraud the creditors if! the estate of Peter Stephens.
