NEGLECTED CHILDREN.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Allow me to refer to the statement made by Mrs Cunnington that "much of tho woi'k of the Children's Aid Society had fallen through because the police would not take action?' Some time ago I drew tho attention of the Secretary to several cases of" children living amidst immoral surroundings. The police visited one place. Apparent result—several young females attend from time to time to " look after" tho juveniles. The parent thus finds more time- to cany on an. illicit mode of life. None of the children I am speaking about are i''neglected " in the sense that they are starved, or badly clad. Still they are " neglected " in. more ways than one, and bid fair to drag others of this generation, and perhaps next generation, to moral ruin. Mrs Cunnington says the fault lies with the Law. What a pity our legislators do not realise this grave omission. What are the enfranchised women doing?—l urn, etc., ALAS.
