MODEL YACHT CLUB
An inter-provincial race was sailed at Victoria Lake on Saturday afternoon, under the. auspices of the Christchurch Model Yacht Ohib. Two heats were sailed. In the first one, Mr Bothamley's Mini was first, Mr Hurt's Rocket second, and Mr Mason's Fleetwing third. A protest w - entered against the first two yachts, and it was upheld, on the ground that, for some distance, they were pushed along the bank. This auade the, result—Mr Mason's Fleetwing 1, Mr Nightingale's Advance 2. and Mr Brittenden's' Sea Foam 3. Mr Britten'den is Commodore of the Otago Model Yacht Club. Mr Beaknd's Wahratae, and Mrs Luttrell's Beatrice also competed. In the second heat, the result was—Advance 1, Sea Foam 2, Mini 3. The result of the two heats left Advance first, with five points : and Sea Foam and Fleef\ving three points each. A race (once over the course between Sea. Foam and Fleetwing, to decide precedence, gave the former second prize and the latter third prize.
