LICENSING.
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir, —In your pleader of last Friday, you gave a very good account of the progress local option has made these last three years. Your figures give a grand prospect to the people of this'land of seeing their terrible enemy put down. Is it an evil or a boon to the people in.this country.? If it is an evil, why should not every man and woman do their utmost to put it down? For my own part, 1 am neither a Prohibitionist nos a total ’abstainer, but will cheerfully
forfeit the little I take, and vote for prohibition to help to put down: that terrible curse, which yearly brings its thousands to a premature grave. I'often wonder how any man of common sense can speak in its favour. If we are all spared to the next election, I hope you and every right-think-ing man and 1 woman will vote for .prohibition, so that we may be able to put down that arch enemy of the people.—l am, etc., A.B.
